Why Hypnosis Can Help You to Think More Positively

Negative beliefs do not leave your mind room to evaluate what is going on. Most of the time, doubts stop you from standing any chance of being successful. Some thoughts become automatic criticism and keep making you live a life that is not truly yours.

Why turn to hypnosis?

Hypnosis has a long history of breaking bad habits and overcoming fears. So, it is only natural to use hypnotic techniques for dealing with negative thought patterns as well.

In several clinical and non-clinical studies, the researchers often report the positive effects of hypnosis. Even though not every branch of Medicine agrees, the results speak for themselves. More and more people experience relief and beneficial outcomes, contributing to the alluring mystery.

So, how does hypnosis work? In actuality, the word hypnosis refers to just a restorative, relaxed state of consciousness. Hypnotism is the practice that allows a trained hypnotist to help people experience such a state.

With several techniques, everyone can reach this trance-like state. In fact, it would be better to call it a self-hypnotic induction. By following several instructions, you put your mind in a pleasant, relaxing, deeply receptive state.

Re-programming the human mind

Growing up, we learn to be responsible for our actions and words. But our behavior and ideas come up naturally. From this perspective, not every rule in the world makes sense for us. Sometimes, we struggle to conform.

Other times, we generate excuses to deal with the daily stresses and tensions. Even the distinct line between truth and lies may get blurred. Especially when strong emotions are involved.

Of course, most people would like to be different. Virtually all of us want to be better, feel healthier, and free from any pain. But we also experience constant negative recurring thoughts. Which are really difficult to get rid of.

Some urges and impulses may cause stress and an inability to control our emotions. In short, our lives are dictated by opposing views and factors at all times. But luckily, we can change the way we think and act to quell these endless struggles.

Re-programming the human mind is nothing more than finding better solutions to our internal and external conflicts.

Hypnosis for negative thinking

Regaining self-control and self-confidence are the first steps of reclaiming your life. Through hypnosis, you mainly achieve the goal of eliminating the negative, overcritical self-talk. Then, the hypnotist helps you replace the old habit with a more positive one. With careful suggestions, your mind restores your self-esteem to optimal levels as well.

Accepting the way you are and loving yourself are always key aspects in achieving positive thinking. So, your sessions may start by looking at what your brain actually did to protect yourself. Even though it does not look like that, your brain loves to optimize itself and be proficient at what it does. So, part of the hypnotic work takes the negative beliefs and reframe them into more positive ones.

Just like a coach, the hypnotist may also teach you skills you know nothing about. From self-help techniques to self-care activities, there is plenty you can add to your hypnotic experience. Of course, coaching is about the client. So, you will also learn techniques to induce yourself into a self-hypnotic state anytime you need to. Especially to relax your body and calm your mind.

3 daily exercises for positive thinking

Here are 3 daily exercises that you can do to maximize the benefits of hypnosis. Root out your negativity through this mental fitness routine. Of course, some readers have never experienced a hypnotic session. But you can quickly make up for that by requesting a free consultation to discover how hypnosis can work for solving your issue.

1 — Positive language

The power of words does not only affect your conversations. In fact, the words you use have a direct impact on the way you think. For example, the vocabulary we have in our minds could be limited. So, we end up attaching several meanings to words that may not be intended to express those ideas. Growing up, we all experienced this. But the same issue keeps happening during our adult life even if we are not aware of it.

The most simple example of using our language in a bad way is by using too many negative forms. That is, Don’ts rather than Dos. Or Can’ts rather than Cans. Of course, it goes without saying, the focus is on the limiting problem and not the solution. By focusing your mind on what is not possible or permitted, you prevent yourself from coming up with solutions.

Replace your negative sentences with positive ones. In a matter of weeks, the way you think and communicate will improve. However, bear in mind that using more positive verb forms does not mean that you stop saying no.

2 — Visualizing positive scenarios

You can try this exercise anytime you want to boost mental energy levels.

Maybe, you are driving to the gym and pull into the parking lot fifteen minutes early. Take a deep breath, relax your shoulder and loosen your jaw. Make yourself comfortable. Then, close your eyes and envision your workout routine.

Since it all happens in your mind, make the experience pleasant. See yourself breezing through each set. But involve all of your senses! For example, feel the pressure of your weight as you pull yourself up. Hear the instructor cheering you on with the right words. Of course, you can imagine a different instructor if you want. After all, it is your imagination!

More importantly, put some intention behind your desired goal. What are you looking to work on during this workout session? What part of your body do you want to improve? Not many people focus on what they want to achieve in any given activity they do.

The goal of visualizing a better scenario is to clarify what you want. In a sense, it is not an act of creation because you should already know what you want at some level. But you need to create some space to allow it to come up in front of you. You will feel more motivated and almost compelled to give your best.

3 — Relax and/or meditate

Hypnosis can help you explore your spirituality. But the aim of this exercise is just to relax. When you learn self-hypnosis, you also learn relaxation techniques.

Achieving deep relaxation is necessary to make your mind more susceptible to positive suggestions. Plus, calming your mind feels really good and restores your energies.

Breathing deeply through your nose is an effective way to relax. First of all, straighten up your spine or lie down. Take a moment to find a comfortable posture. Then, inhale and exhale from your belly for at least 10 minutes. This will help you ventilate your lungs fully.

At first, you might wonder about the correct rhythm. But do not let any thought bother you. Instead, focus your attention on your breathing. Or on the tip of your nose. In eastern meditation, you focus your mind on the air passing in and out of your nostrils.

Let the breath in and out without forcing it. During the first times, you might be unable to completely let yourself go. In fact, if you are not used to breathing from your belly, this exercise may seem like work. But in a matter of days, your diaphragmatic muscle will loosen a little, allowing you to reap the benefits of this relaxation technique.
